Our Staff

We are extremely fortunate to have a superb team of dedicated staff at Wychbold who are all, regardless of their roles, committed to ensuring the best outcomes for our pupils. Please read on to find out a little more about us.

Head Teacher

Mrs Howitt has been Headteacher of Wychbold since 1st September 2016 and has overall responsibility for the leadership and management of the school. 

"I am thrilled to be headteacher of Wychbold.  The children and staff are so enthusiatic and engaged in learning.  I am looking forward to working with the team to develop new ways to make learning exciting and purposeful."

Wren's Nursery

Mrs Kathryn Roberts - Nursery Manager

Mrs Deb Waldman - Nursery Assistant and transition assistant across Early Years

The team in Wrens are highly experienced Early Years Practitioners who are constantly seeking opportunities to make learning creative and engaging for very young children.  

 


Robin's Reception

Miss Helen Bromley has worked at Wychbold for 8 years and is also the Early Years Manager.  Mrs Hounsell-Hardy also teaches in Robins’ one day a week.

Supporting the children in Robins full time is Mrs Stafford and alongside her Mrs Robinson will be supporting both Robins and Wrens throughout the year

Starling's Class Year 1

Miss Sarah Neal (Class Teacher, part-time Deputy Headteacher and English Lead)

Mrs Stafford (teaching assistant two afternoon class teacher) 

 

Miss Neal, our Read, Write Inc. Leader, is working hard with the Starlings children this year to give them the best start to Key Stage 1.  This is alongside our Mastery curriculum in maths ensuring that children excel in their early experience of school.

 

 


Owl's Class Year 2

Miss Grubb (Teaching Assistant)

Mrs Banfield is new to the school and is covering Mrs Atkinson't maternity leave.  She is extremely creative so look out for the exciting additions to the classroom!

 


Falcon's Class Year 3

Miss Todd's continued enthusiasm and energy will mean that the children will be having a busy year filled with exciting activities pined with high expectations!


Eagles’ Class Year 4

With Miss Warren's passion for English, art and music, she will be delivering a curriculum of rich and in depth experiences for the children.

 

 


PPA teacher and SENDCo

Mrs Hounsell teaches throughout the school for four days a week. Throughout the year, Mrs Hounsell will teach all aspects of PE including; football, rugby, OAA, hockey, games and athletics, mutli skills and ball skills. The children will have an opportunity to work both indoors and outdoors to develop their individual skills and team game skills. 

Mrs Hounsell will also be supporting the children who have special educational needs, alongside their families, ensuring that the highest quality support and provision is offered to the children to ensure that they thrive and enjoy school.

Support Staff

  •  Mrs Maycroft – Intervention Teaching Assistant

  • We are delighted to have Mrs Maycroft as our intervention teaching assistant.  If any children need extra support, with their reading, number, writing or fine or gross motor skills, they are supported in the bright and friendly Aviary in small groups to enable them to make progress.  Children may also be supported with their social skills or confidence in a Nurture Session.  

  • Breakfast Club - Swallows 

  • Mrs Wright, Mrs Portmanm Mr Davies and Miss Grubb provide the care and support to the children who come to Breakfast Club
  • After School Club - Swifts

  • Miss Grubb, Mrs Waldman, Miss Harbun, and Mr Davis are our team who work throughout the week to provide fun activities for our children.
  • Office Staff

  •  Mrs Giddings - School Administrator

  • Mrs Strawbridge – School Administrator

  • Looks after all aspects of the office management including meet and greet, administration, finance and health and safety. She is a very busy lady.

  • Mr Peter Nelder – Site Security and Maintenance

  • Mr Peter Nelder ensures that our building is opened and locked up every day and helps to ensure all the maintenance jobs are kept up to date.

  • Complete Clean Management provide our cleaning services.
  • Lunchtime Supervisors

  • Mrs Millward, Mrs Amess, Mrs Talbot, Mrs Wright and Miss Grubb all help to supervise our pupils during lunchtime.
