Wychbold First and Nursery School has 5 classes which consist of 1 Nursery (Wrens), Reception (Robins), Year 1 (Starlings), Year 2 Owls ) and Key Stage 2 (Eagles – mixed Year 3 and 4).
Our Nursery has 26 part-time places where parents can choose the sessions flexibly combining full days or half days to take their child’s 15 hours of free provision. This can also be topped up with additional sessions at a cost for additional hours. We do admit Rising 3’s where a child can start in Nursery at the start of the half term they are 3 but these sessions would be chargeable.
We have a 20 pupil admission number for our Reception Class, Robins. Staff and pupils do work very closely with Nursery but also have sessions separately.
Starlings and Owls are our Key Stage 1 classes for pupils in Year 1 and 2. Pupils work very closely in these classe to allow for new friendship groups, team work and peer to peer support to be developed year on year.
Eagles Class is for our oldest pupils, Key Stage 2 in Year 3 and 4. Pupils have the opportunity to take on more responsibility in this class as Monitors and Prefects. Every Year 4 pupil is expected to complete a half term of Prefect duties including manning the school office during lunchtime and supporting younger pupils in the lunch hall.
